If your stock broker told you that you could double your contribution, wouldn't you take a serious look at the investment?  Well, that is exactly what your money with a donation to the Clay County Education Foundation!

Matching funds are available for special projects that enhance the curriculum at the request of any Clay County school.

Professional Theatre productions in the schools and at the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts, along with visiting authors, and classroom libraries for entire grade levels are all activities funded by the Foundation with the goal of enriching the learning experiences of our children.

When there are no other resources, the Foundation works with social workers, schools principals and the Clay County Health Department to help students in need of hearing aids, dental visits, doctor appointments, etc.  The Foundation, for example, recently donated funds to purchase lice kits to a school where the problem was greatly affecting attendance.

The Foundation is proud to give monetary awards each year to Clay County's top Ten Finalists for Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year.

The Shoe Fund began several years ago when a Foundation Director discovered that some children did not have decent shoes to wear to school.  Thus far, the Foundation has donated more than 1,000 pairs of shoes to school nurses and social workers to give out as needed.

Students cannot learn if they do not have the  basic supplies.  Ever sensitive to preserving the students' dignity, the Foundation provides school supplies at the beginning of the school year to those in need.
